Domaine Chandon de Briailles
Domaine Chandon de Briailles is a historic family estate in Burgundy’s Côte de Beaune, owned by the de Nicolay family since 1834. Under the stewardship of siblings Claude and François de Nicolay, the domaine has become a benchmark for biodynamic viticulture in the region. Its vineyards stretch across some of Burgundy’s most esteemed appellations—Savigny-lès-Beaune, Pernand-Vergelesses, Aloxe-Corton, and the legendary slopes of Corton Grand Cru—where limestone-rich soils and diverse exposures shape wines of remarkable finesse. Farming is done entirely by hand, with horses used for plowing and natural preparations nurturing the vines. In the cellar, native yeast fermentations and restrained oak aging preserve purity and terroir expression. Each bottle from Domaine Chandon de Briailles reflects Burgundian heritage, meticulous craftsmanship, and a profound respect for the land.

Domaine Chandon de Briailles’ wines are expressions of Burgundian elegance—refined, mineral, alive with terroir, and built to age gracefully. Their reds, primarily Pinot Noir, are layered and expressive: fragrant red and dark berries, rose petal, earth and spice, all underpinned by a delicate tension from clay-limestone soils. The Grand Cru and Premier Cru bottlings bring added depth—richer fruit, profound complexity, and a lengthy, graceful finish with supple yet firm tannins.
The whites—Chardonnay from Savigny-lès-Beaune, Pernand-Vergelesses, and other Côte de Beaune sites—are luminous: crisp orchard and citrus fruit, white flowers, stone and wet-stone minerality, fine texture, and freshness that balances richness. Both red and white wines show purity from biodynamic farming, subtle oak influence, and an almost transparent sense of place. You’ll taste finesse, vibrancy, and wines that evolve beautifully in bottle, offering reward with both early drinking and cellaring.
