Trinchero di Ezio Giacomo Trinchero
Trinchero di Ezio Giacomo Trinchero is a historic family-run winery rooted in the rolling hills of Agliano Terme in Piedmont, Italy. Revered for its commitment to authentic, site-expressive wines, the estate bridges generations of tradition with thoughtful, minimal-intervention winemaking. Surrounded by Monferrato’s sunlit vineyards and clay-limestone soils, Trinchero works primarily with Barbera, crafting wines that are both powerful and elegant, marked by bright acidity and vibrant fruit. Farming is done with care for the land, embracing organic principles and a deep respect for biodiversity. Each bottle reflects the soul of Piedmont—heritage, craftsmanship, and an unwavering dedication to terroir.
Trinchero di Ezio Giacomo Trinchero’s wines are pure expressions of Piedmont’s Monferrato hills—vibrant, soulful, and deeply tied to their clay-limestone terroir. The estate’s Barbera d’Asti is its calling card: intensely aromatic with layers of red cherry, blackberry, and wild herbs, balanced by lively acidity and a supple texture. Aging in large neutral barrels preserves freshness while adding subtle depth.
They also produce Barbera d’Asti Superiore, a more structured and age-worthy expression, offering darker fruit tones—black plum, ripe currant—and hints of spice and leather, with finely integrated tannins. Small lots of Grignolino or other native varieties (depending on the vintage) showcase a lighter, more playful side: pale ruby hues, delicate floral notes, and a whisper of gentle tannin.
Across the range, Trinchero’s wines share a hallmark freshness, precision, and respect for tradition. They are crafted with minimal intervention, allowing the fruit, soils, and seasons of Agliano Terme to speak clearly—wines that are both approachable in youth and capable of graceful evolution in the cellar.
