The wines crafted by Stef at Sciara winery are a pure expression of Etna’s volcanic terroir, combining tradition, passion, and the unique character of the region’s indigenous grapes. Here’s a closer look:

Red Wines

  • Nerello Mascalese: The star of Stef’s reds, this wine is delicate yet complex, with aromas of red berries, dried herbs, and a touch of smoke from the volcanic soils. On the palate, it’s fresh and vibrant, with fine tannins and a long, mineral finish.

  • Etna Rosso: A classic blend of Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio, this wine is elegant and layered, offering notes of cherry, spices, and earthy undertones. It reflects the high-altitude vineyards’ finesse and energy.

White Wines

  • Carricante: Stef’s Carricante is crisp and mineral-driven, with bright citrus and green apple flavors balanced by hints of wild herbs and a saline finish, echoing the Mediterranean influence.

  • Etna Bianco: A blend of Carricante with other local white varieties, this wine is fresh and zesty, with floral notes, stone fruits, and a textured mouthfeel.

Rosé

  • Etna Rosato: Made primarily from Nerello Mascalese, this rosé is light and refreshing, with flavors of wild strawberries, orange zest, and a delicate mineral edge.

Stef’s winemaking emphasizes a hands-off approach, allowing the volcanic soils, high altitudes, and native grape varieties to shine through. The wines are vibrant, balanced, and deeply connected to the rugged beauty of Mount Etna.
